Betty Shambaugh

Betty Lou Shambaugh, 90, of New Haven, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2025 at her home.

Betty was born in Monroeville on February 28, 1935, a daughter of the late Beatrice (Norwood) & Merle Mabis.

Betty lived a full and meaningful life, working in various roles over the years. On September 13, 1952, she married the love of her life, Dennis Shambaugh, and together they shared many cherished years. In her free time, Betty found joy in quilting, baking, playing piano, and playing cards. She also took great comfort in reading her Bible. Family gatherings and reunions at the lake were among her favorite moments. Betty will be fondly remembered for her confidence, determination, and her fun, creative spirit that brought warmth to everyone around her.

She will be sadly missed by her children, Ronia (Scott) Krieg & Tim Shambaugh; grandchildren, Benjamin Freiburger, Eric (Cindy) Freiburger, Monica (Sean) Eyanson, & Austin Shambaugh; great grandchildren, Charlotte, Abigail, & Fiona Eyanson; & many nieces and nephews. 

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis; & siblings, Robert, Marion "Bud", Donald Mabis, & Darlene Dorman. 

She will be laid to rest in Wiltsie Cemetery.
