William Oliver Gonya, 77 of Payne passed away at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center on Sept. 14, 2014.
Bill was born in Payne on October 14, 1936, a son of the late Catherine (Linder) and Bernard Gonya.
He worked as a carpenter most of his life.
He was a member of Divine Mercy Catholic Parish
On Sept. 22, 1956 Bill married Mary Catherine Kever.
Bill will be sadly missed by his wife, Mary; children, Joanne (Justin) Carlson of Columbia City, IN, Janet (Mark) Franco of New Haven, IN, Julie (Rick) Henderson of Pierceton, IN, Laurie (Ken) Orzechowski of Perrysburg, Lisa (Mark) Goedde of Longmont, CO & Linda (Dean) Bradtmueller of Payne; siblings,Marianne (the late Bob) Clark of Richmond, Kathleen (Phil) Fry of Columbia City, Carol (Stan) Swartz of Warsaw, IN, Nancy (Tom) Barker of Pierceton, IN, Bob (Sally) of Fairfield & Mike (Louise) of Fort Wayne; sister-in-law, Rita of Angola; 18 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, John.
Viewing is Tuesday, 4 - 7:30 pm with the rosary recited at 7:30 at Dooley Funeral Home, 5761 SR 500, Payne, Ohio, where viewing is also Wednesday, 9-9:30 am.
Funeral Mass is Wednesday, 10 am at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Payne
He will be laid to rest at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery Payne, Ohio.
