Billy Joe Hicks

Billy Joe Hicks, 73, of Antwerp, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2016 at Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center.

Billy Joe was born in Fredville, KY  on August 25, 1942, a son of the late Julia (Wireman) and Bertral  Hicks.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and he worked at Dana Weatherhead. Being a member of The First Baptist Church was important to him. His faith was his guide in how he treated others.
  
He will be sadly missed by his children, Susan (Robert) Jackson of Mark Center, Crissy (Chris) Simmons of Fort Wayne & William (Angela) of Haviland; siblings, Terrie Baumgartner of Indianapolis, Donna DeVore,  Carles, Jacky & Lacy Dean all of Payne; 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

He is also preceded in death by his wife, Shirley, whom he married Nov. 30, 1967 and siblings, Bruxie Smalley, Adrain & Clifton.    

His funeral service is 3 pm, Monday at First Baptist Church of Antwerp  with viewing one hour prior.

Viewing is also Sunday, 2-5 pm at Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp.

He will be laid to rest at Maumee Cemetery with military honors
