Bobby Joe Blankenship, Jr., 62, of Payne passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at his home.
Bobby was born November 21, 1962, a son of Marjorie (Pavlak) & Bobby Blankenship, Sr.
Bobby was a devoted train engineer for Norfolk Southern, a career that reflected his lifelong love for the railroad. Known for his quick wit and playful sense of humor, Bobby brought laughter wherever he went. His kindness shone through in every aspect of his life—whether lending a hand to a neighbor or serving as a devoted caregiver to his parents. Above all, he loved his family deeply and lived his life grounded in his faith in Christ. As an active member of Saint Jacobs Church in Payne, Bobby’s faith guided him, and his selflessness left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
He will be sadly missed by his father, Bobby Blankenship, Sr.; sister Lana (Michael) Verlie; & many friends and neighbors.
Bobby was preceded in death by his nephew, Michael Verlie.
Service is Thursday, June 5th at 6 PM with viewing from 4-6 PM at Dooley Funeral Home, Payne.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Paulding County Sheriff's Department or the St. Jacob’s Evangelical Church.
