Bruce Wayne Zeissig

Bruce Wayne Zeissig, 74, of Payne,  passed away Friday, March 11, 2022 at Paulding County Hospital.

Bruce was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on March 22, 1947, a son of the late Mary E. (Morgan) and Herbert A. Zeissig.

He grew up on a farm, loving to play baseball, played the trumpet and showed cows and pigs in 4-H and FFA. He graduated from Fairview High School in 1965 and then went into the U.S. Army, proudly serving in the Vietnam War. Bruce was a farmer along with being a supervisor at Diehl Dairy, Defiance. He was an Indianapolis Colts and Notre Dame Football fan. He loved to collect toy cars, watch westerns and episodes of Monk. His membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was consistent with his charitable and loving nature.

Bruce will be sadly missed by his son, Josh (Pam) Zeissig; sisters, Mary Ann Driver, Judy (Paul) Lemish & Lee Merritt and grandchildren, Dalton, Tori, Dylan, Evan & Jenna.

His funeral service is 10:30 AM on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at Dooley Funeral Home, 5761 SR 500, Payne, with viewing from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM

He will be laid to rest at Lehman Cemetery, with military honors.

Memorials are to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.

Remember going to the temple with Bruce and Mary Ann as temple workers. Enjoyed all Bruces stories about his youth. He grew up around all my Stoller realtives and knew all the country roads to go to and from Columbus to Hicksville.
