Charles “Chuck” Moore passed away in Louisville, KY on Friday Sept. 22, 2023 at the age of 79. Charles, a transplant recipient, received an additional six years due to the gift of life. Charles retired from BF Goodrich in Woodburn, IN in the mid-1990s after 30 years, serving as a supervisor. He worked as a facility manager at Hickory Creek in Hicksville and was a part-time farmer. He loved spending time with his family and living a rural life. He owned various farms and rural properties in OH, IN, NM, and KY, raising alpacas, horses, and a variety of other animals, including his most recent English Shepherd dogs, Eva and Annie. Having an appreciation for life, Chuck enjoyed working and producing food from his gardens, doing home improvement projects, listening to various music (jazz), and being on the lake boating and fishing.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Evelyn Moore, Woodburn, IN, brother David Moore, sister Marge Yenser, and great-granddaughter Quinn Sitcler. Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 36 years Karen (Ballreich) Moore, his children Lisa Meyer (Dennis) New Haven, IN, Brad Moore (Cathy) Las Cruces, NM, Julie Steele (Tony) Lebanon, OH; stepchildren Doug Maag, San Juan, PR, Andrea Bruns (Rich) of Louisville, KY; grandchildren Nicholas Meyer (Amanda), Kristen Sitcler (Mike), Andrea Miera, Shannon Moore, Amy Moore (Jules), Blaker Chapman (Danielle), Alayna Steele, Grace Bruns, and Quinn Bruns; and great grandchildren Zoey, Iris, Maddux Sitcler and Saylor Chapman; siblings Nancy Mohr Woodburn, IN, William Moore (Dorothy) Wolcottville, IN, Janet Meyer Monroeville, IN, Rita Beam (Jerry) Monroe, TN and Mark Moore (Roxanne) New Haven, IN.
A celebration of life service will be held October 6th at Dooley Funeral Home located at 5761 State Route 500, Payne Ohio 45880 at 11:00 am. Visitation will be held at 10:00 am.
