Christine Hounshell

Christine L. Hounshell, 68, of Cecil, Ohio passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2024.

Chris was born in Columbus, Ohio on July 22, 1955, a daughter of the late JoAnn (Autz) and Thomas Young.

She came from a large Irish family who enjoyed the outdoors. One of her favorite pastimes was fishing with her brother, Steve. As an adult her interests turned to Ohio State football and collecting pigs, owls and most recently, baby Yodas. Regardless of her interests, Chris always put her family first. She served her community as an EMT for seven years and a school bus driver, then going on to be the director of transportation for Antwerp Local Schools. Later in life she enjoyed farming and driving for Derck Farms.

Chris will be sadly missed by her children, Amanda (Matthew) Harmeyer and Jack Hounshell; siblings, Steven (Kim) Young, Peggy (Jim) Rhoades and Kathy (Mike) Riegelman; grandchildren, Morgan, Brooke, Waylon and Madison; great grandchild, Noelle and best friends, Keith and Beth Derck.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Norvil "Jr." Hounshell and siblings, Bobbie Danberry, Linda Marshall and Matthew and Thomas Young.

Viewing is Monday, February 12th, 4 PM to 7 PM at Dooley Funeral Home, 202 W. River Street, Antwerp, Ohio.

Her funeral service is 10:30 AM, with viewing one hour prior on Tuesday, February 13th at Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp.

She will be laid to rest in Bethel Cemetery, Cecil.
