Daniel Miller

Daniel E. Miller, 73, of Harlan, Indiana, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on June 8, 2026, at his son’s home in Auburn.

Dan was born on September 7, 1952, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to the late Henry and Mildred (Delagrange) Miller.

A hardworking and dedicated businessman, Dan spent much of his life in the construction industry, proudly owning and operating Springfield Restoration and Remodeling. On August 22, 1970, he married the love of his life, Diane (Messman), and together they shared many wonderful years building a loving family.

Dan enjoyed golfing, meticulously caring for his yard, and spending time in Florida. He was happiest when he was working, helping others, or investing in his community. He generously gave his time as a Harlan Days volunteer and served for many years as a township board member. 

Above all else, Dan’s faith in Jesus Christ guided his life and shaped the example he set for those around him. Nothing brought Dan greater joy than his family. He treasured every opportunity to spend time with his children and grandchildren, whose lives were his greatest source of pride and happiness. Dan’s unwavering faith, servant’s heart, and devotion to his family leave a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew and loved him.

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 55 years, Diane Miller; his children, Sean (Lynna) Miller, Kris (Nicole) Miller, and Bret (Dinah) Miller; his siblings, Darrell (Ruth) Miller, Dinah (Steve) Tatman, Denise (John) Hughes, Doris (Dale) Cobbs, and David Miller; and his cherished grandchildren, Jaysa (Ryan) Bakle, Garrison (Katie) Miller, Dawson Miller, Branson Miller, Baylor Miller, Elliana Miller, Miles Miller, Nya Miller, Everly Miller, and Calen Miller. 

In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Jayne Miller.

Visitation will be held Monday, June 15, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Community Church, 15419 State Road 1, Leo, Indiana 46765. 

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at the church, with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. 

Dan will be laid to rest at Scipio Cemetery.
