Donald Hissong

Donald Hissong, 91, of Woodburn, Indiana passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at Heritage Park, Fort Wayne, Indiana

Don was born in Woodburn on September 1, 1934, a son of the late Dora (Gorrell) and Ernie Hissong.

It is an understatement to say that Don proudly served his country in the United States Army for 20 years. Don saw seven tours of duty, taking in 50 countries and islands. Don also served his community, taking great care of Scipio Cemetery for countless years and serving with community events in Woodburn and Harlan, Indiana.

Don will be sadly missed by his siblings, Jean Ludwig, Donna Wonderly, Joyce Sanders and Ed Hissong and a host of nieces and nephews.

Viewing is Monday, March 16th, 10 AM to 11 AM at Dooley Funeral Home, 202 W. River Street, Antwerp, Ohio.

Don's graveside military service will be Monday, March 16th, 11:30 AM at Scipio Cemetery, 23800 IN-37, Harlan, IN 46743.

Memorials are to the Paulding County Sheriff's Department, 500 E Perry Street, Paulding, Ohio 45879 to support the dog kennel.
