Donald D Shaffer

Donald D. Shaffer, 89, of Cecil, Ohio passed away at home on Thursday, February 26, 2026

Don was born in Cecil, Ohio on February 3, 1937, a son of the late Eileen (Highland) and Gerald Shaffer.

He proudly served in the Army National Guard. Don retired from BF Goodrich and went on to deliver car parts for H & W Napa stores until December of last year. You could count on him to meet you with his friendly smile and you knew by the way he lived that Don put God and his family first.

Don will be sadly missed by his wife, Sharon (Straley) to whom he was married on February 16, 1957; children, Tammy (Jeff Adams) Johanns, Donald (Darla) Shaffer, Jr. and Jody Shaffer; grandchildren, Lesley Parrett, Eric Johanns, Jerrica Steffens, Justin Shaffer, Linzee Hahn and Jesse Moreno and 12 great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Linda and Karol Shaffer.

Viewing is Monday, March 2nd, 4 PM to 6:30 PM, with the Rosary recited at 6:30 PM at Dooley Funeral Home, 202 W. River Street, Antwerp.

Don's funeral service is Tuesday, March 3rd, 10:30 AM, with viewing one hour prior at Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp.

He will be laid to rest in Bethel Cemetery, Cecil.
