Donald C. Wood

Donald C. Wood, age 81, of St. Clairsville, Ohio passed away April 17, 2025 surrounded by his family.

Don was born in Payne, Ohio on December 19, 1943, a son of Forest and Dorothy Wood (Price) of Payne, Ohio.

Don was a man of faith and service. As an Ohio State Patrol Sergeant, Federal Security Officer, and Elder at St. Paul Lutheran Church, he dedicated his life to serving and protecting the community. He married his high school sweetheart, Sandra Wood (Benschneider). Outside of work, Don loved gardening, farming, bird watching and was a passionate jokester and storyteller.

His family was his life and he was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Sandra; children, Toni, Rita, Amy; grandson Derrick; brother, Alan and his loving nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Tuesday, April 22nd, 4 PM to 8 PM in the Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Brookside.

Viewing will also be Thursday, April 24th, 1 PM to 3 PM at  Dooley Funeral Home, 5761 State Route 500, Payne.

Donald's funeral service will be held Thursday at 3 pm at Dooley Funeral Home, Payne.

He will be laid to rest in Wiltsie Cemetery, Payne, following the funeral home service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 56381 National Rd, Bridgeport, Ohio 43912.
