Donald Leo Zimmerman

Donald L. Zimmerman  75, of Qunicy, MI, formerly of Payne, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017, at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.

Don was born in Van Wert, a son of the late Leo & Mildred (Cryer) Zimmerman.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army & was a specifications engineer at Navistar. Don was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Quincy, St. James Lutheran Church, Payne & American Legion Post 297.

Don will always be remembered for his spunk, his smile & laughter that he shared with others. His family was his greatest achievement. His family will always cherish their time with him, especially at the lake.

He will be sadly missed by his children Bryan (Amy Conn) of Fort Wayne & Corinne "Corky" of Durham, ME; grandsons Cody, Bryson, Drew & Charles "Charlie".

On June 30, 2016 he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruth Ann, whom he married May 15, 1965.

His funeral service is Tuesday, 11 am at St James Lutheran Church, Payne, with viewing one hour prior.

Viewing is also Monday, 4 - 8 pm at Dooley Funeral Home, 5761 SR 500, Payne.Ohio.

He will be laid to rest at Lehman Cemetery, with military honors.
