Donna Fry

Donna J. Fry, 88, of Woodburn, IN, died peacefully on Friday, May 8, 2026 at The Cedars in Leo, IN.

She was born on May 9,1937 to the late Homer Brooks and Wilma (Kanizsa) Reynolds. She married Richard Fry on December 6,1958 and he preceded her in death in 2022.

Donna was a kind and friendly soul who always put others before herself. Donna loved spending time with her family and cherished her frequent phone calls with her sisters, sometimes just to say “I’m signing off for the night”. Her fun-loving spirit brought joy and laughter to many. Her caring nature was reflected by providing in-home child care for many years and assisting elderly neighbors. She formed genuine friendships with her neighbors by sharing morning coffee and good conversation. Her daily walks frequently involved stopping in local businesses simply to say hello to the staff. Most of all she loved the Lord and her family. Donna will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her children; Gary Fry of Antwerp, Ohio, Shelly (Joel) Buuck of Woodburn, Jeffrey Fry of Woodburn, and Alan Fry of Woodburn, 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Homer (Dick) (Elizabeth) Brooks of Defiance, Ohio, Patricia (Roger) Pier of Antwerp, Ohio, Randy (Jeanette) Brooks of Antwerp, Ohio, Cheryl (Charles) Taylor of Antwerp, Ohio, Vicki Sprow of Antwerp, Ohio and Keith (Trenda) Stiebling of Defiance, Ohio.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026, from 10:00 AM to Noon at Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp.

A memorial service will immediately follow at Noon with Pastor Tim Edwards officiating at Dooley Funeral Home, 202 W. River Street, Antwerp.

Private burial will be at Wiltsie Cemetery, Payne, Ohio.

Memorials may be made to Parkview Hospice.
