Dorothy Balser

Dorothy D. Balser, 90, of Antwerp passed away Monday, June 3, 2013 at Hickory Creek Nursing Home, Hicksville.

Dorothy was born in Antwerp on July 14, 1922, a daughter of the late Lula Mae (Miller) and Charles  Donat.

She enjoyed being an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Antwerp, playing cards, noodle making and spending time at Marble Lake in Quincy, MI.

Dorothy had been named "Checker of the Year" for Marsh Supermarkets in Fort Wayne.

On Oct 12, 1940 Dorothy married Virgil Balser, who passed away Jan 11, 1993.

She will be sadly missed by her son, Jerry of Antwerp; 4 grandchildren, Sheila (John) Hilton, Nicki (Mark) Shepherd, Neil (Nickie) & Wade (Melissa) & 12 great grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death are her sons, Jackie & Gene;  grandson, Scott; great grandchild, Avery &  siblings, June West & Marion "Pete" Donat.

Viewing is Thursday, 6 to 8 pm, at Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp

Services are private.
