To the entire family my deepest sympathy. I am so saddened at the loss of my dear friend. She was a remarkable person and lived life to the fullest. We shared more great times than I can remember let alone share. You all remain in my prayers.

Sorry to hear of the passing of Ellen. Having lived next door to her and her wonderful family on Broadview Lane in Payne all those years ago, I can say she was a great neighbor and such a caring person. I have fond memories of those days there with Ellen, Dick, Penny, Kevin, and their dog "Fatso." Such a great neighborhood all the way around! Along with all of you, I celebrate her memory and ask God's blessing on her family. Rest in Peace...

Dear Jim, Pennie, Kevin, Chad, Colleen, 'Nede'...spouses, grand and great-grandchildren, other family members and friends of Ellen....like most all who received news of El's stroke and subsequent passing....we're still in shock and disbelief...It is very difficult to comprehend this terrible loss that has just happened in our lives, that makes us all feel so empty and grief stricken.

During all of my life, especially during those years we were next door neighbors on Broadview Lane in Payne, Ellen's presence was felt. From 'refereeing' all out 'brawls' with my brothers between our houses, to being among the first on the spot to provide comfort, help and guidance that terrible day in August, 1974 when our Mother, too, died suddenly and unexpectedly, Ellen was there....and remained there through all of life's ups and downs...not only raising you kids, but the Hooker boys as well!!

On one hand, it seems like it was just yesterday that the Community said its good-byes to your Dad, her first husband, Richard, after his tragic and untimely death...to a few years later when she introduced her second husband, a great guy named Jim to all of us back in October, 1983...and wow, what a wonderful 'team' they became, working unselfishly and tirelessly, together, within your family, within the Church and throughout the entire Community. It was a pretty sure bet that when we saw Jim, Ellen would be nearby...and yes, vice versa!

And that loving relationship with her family and so many of us, continued throughout the years right up to her untimely death....always carefully assessing the 'situation' and then acting upon her gut feelings, offering to help or just simply lending a hand or listening ear, generally never having to be asked, but working quietly and unselfishly behind the scenes...be it the St. Paul United Methodist Church's Community Food Pantry and other groups within the Church, to providing travel arrangements for some who needed a lift, to loving on all who were within her sight, that she had quietly observed and concluded, might need some simple encouragement and even a hug. She was one of the BIGGEST GEMS the Payne Community will ever know, and like all of you, we grieve her death.

My wife and I thank God for the life of Ellen Lomont Cluts Henriott and ask that He give you and all of us, the strength and comfort we will need in the days, weeks, months and years ahead to accept the fact that she's no longer with us here on earth, but rather, encouraging us from above to do those kind of things everyday in our lives, that were second nature to her.

With our heartfelt sympathy and love....
Jim and Vicki Hooker, Mesa, AZ.

Dear Jim, Pennie, Kevin, and Chad and your families. We are so sorry for the loss of her, she was truly one of the sweetest women. I remember spending lots of time at her house in grade school. Always had a smile, and a helping hand. She was a wonderful asset to the church, its hard to add anything else to what Jim Hooker said, he pretty much summed it all up. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. She will be greatly missed by everyone. Just remember that smile of hers, it will get you through many tough days ahead.
Thinking of all of you at this difficult time.

Ellen was my nurse when I had to spend some time at the hospital. That was the first I got acquainted with her. Then again at the Food Pantry. Such a warm, sweet lady. She will be missed by many. My thoughts and prayers for all of you.
