Eric D Stairhime

Eric D. Stairhime, 60, of Hicksville, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2021 at Community Memorial Hospital.

Eric was born in Hicksville on May 7, 1961, a son of the late Diana (Cottrell) and Rodney Stairhime.

As a young man, he loved to work with his father on the family farm, excavating and working the land. He continued to enjoy hunting during his entire life. Labrador Retrievers always had a special place in his heart, his favorites being Ruckus and Reba. His charitable nature took him on mission trips, which included India. Eric attended Fort Wayne Bible College and he received his nursing degree from Hesston College, which he put to work as a registered nurse at DuPont Hospital in the Emergency Department.

Eric will be sadly missed by his wife of 5 years, Sue Alvarez Stairhime; sons, Joshua (Samantha) Stairhime, Jacob Stairhime, and Aaron (Jessica) Stairhime; stepsons, Nicholas (Allyssa) Alvarez, Jordan Alvarez, and Logan Alvarez; sisters, Tami (Todd) Hagerman & Lisa (Mark) Biery; grandchildren, Carson, Emery, Meredith, Jonas, Raegan & Elijah.

Eric was preceded in death by his first wife, Collette (Collie) Stairhime. Eric and Collie were married for 31 years, prior to her death in 2014.

Viewing is Thursday, December 23rd, 4 pm to 7 pm at Dooley Funeral Home, 202 W. River Street, Antwerp.

His funeral service Friday, December 24th, 10:30 am with viewing one hour prior at Hicksville Cornerstone Church, 232 W. Arthur Street, Hicksville.

Eric will be laid to rest in Scipio Cemetery Harlan, Indiana.
