Helen Eileen Major

Helen Eileen Major, 86, of Antwerp, passed away Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Community Memorial Hospital, Hicksville.

Helen was born in Payne on May 17, 1929, a daughter of the late Edith (Miller) and Sherman  Miller.

She was a member of Antwerp United Methodist Church, the Red Hat Society and Antwerp VFW Post 5087 Auxiliary.  Many will remember Helen as their Avon Lady for the last 53 years, but the best role of her life was as a wife, mother and grandmother.  

On Aug. 14, 1949 Helen married Bert Major, who died Sept. 30, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her sons, Jack & Tom and grandson, Alex.

Helen will be sadly missed by her children, Dan (Karen) of Willard, Janet of Tucson & Steven (Den) of Vientiane, Laos; daughter-in-law, Maria; 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and many caring nieces and nephews.

Visitation is Saturday Jan. 9th,  9:30 - 11 am,  at Antwerp United Methodist Church. 

Her funeral service is at Antwerp United Methodist Church at 11 am on Saturday, January 9th.

She will be laid to rest at Maumee Cemetery.
