Hertha "Penny" Hertel
Hertha "Penny" Hertel, 84, of Antwerp, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2011 at The Gardens of Paulding.
Penny was born in Sherwood on August 21, 1927, a daughter of the late Caroline (Prigge) and George Rosebrock.
She was a nurse at Hicksville & Paulding Hospitals. While in nursing school she was a member of the Army Cadet Nurse Corp. She was also a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church.
On May 29, 1950, Penny married Frederick "Mike" Hertel.
She will be sadly missed by her husband, Mike; 3 children, Micki (Doug) Dunakin & Jim, both of Antwerp & Ann (Ray) Steup of Yoder, IN; half brothers, Albert Rosebrock of Sherwood & Rex Rosebrock of Preston, MD & step mother, Margaret Rosebrock of Preston, MD. Penny was also preceded in death by her brother, Herbert Rosebrock.
Her funeral service is at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church of Antwerp at 10 am on Tuesday, November 15th, with viewing one hour prior. Rev. Robert Becker will officiate.
Viewing is Monday, 2-6 pm, at Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp.
She will be laid to rest at Maumee Cemetery.
