James R. Becker

James R. Becker, 69, of Antwerp, passed away Sunday, November 23, 2014 at Parkview Regional Medical Center.

Jim was born in Bowling Green on July 5, 1945, a son of Geneva "June" (Phillips) and the late Wayne  Becker.

Jim proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He received his B.Sc. from Metropolitan State College in Denver & Masters in Education from Ball State University. Jim was a teacher and football coach at Antwerp High School from 1975 to 1978  and then  in Anderson, Indiana, where he also served on the Executive Board of the Teachers Union. He was a member of Divine Mercy Catholic Parish.

On Feb. 5, 1977 he married Lee Herber.  

Jim will be sadly missed by his wife, Lee; mother, June of Pemberville; children, Chauncey of Chesterfield, IN, Jack of Muncie, IN & Rachel at home; siblings, Deann (Jim) Whitaker of Bradner, Joy (Tom)  Henline & Roger (Ann) both of Pemberville.

Funeral Mass at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Antwerp, at 11 am on Wednesday, November 26th.

Viewing is Wednesday, 9 - 10:30 am at Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp.

He will be laid to rest at Maumee Cemetery.
