James Robert Franklin, 73, of Payne, passed away August 24, 2024 at his home.
Jim was born in Quebec, Canada, on January 21, 1951, a son of Helen and Robert Franklin.
Jim was a dedicated truck driver for Walmart, proudly serving for 18 years and earning a Million Mile Safety Award for his exceptional driving record. He even secured second place in a truck driver rodeo. Jim had a deep love for the outdoors, enjoying hunting, fishing, and spending time in nature. He was a passionate fan of basketball, softball, the Cleveland Browns, NASCAR races, tractor pulls, and the Ohio State Buckeyes. As a member of the American Legion in Payne, Jim cherished playing cards with the guys, known for his friendly and outgoing nature. He was deeply loved by everyone who knew him and found great joy in being a devoted family man and grandfather.
Jim will be sadly missed by his sons, Dave (Angie) & Jeff (Lizzy) Franklin; 8 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; & 4 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marsha Franklin; son, Chris Franklin; & sister, Angela Franklin.
Service is Tuesday, August 27th at 11 AM with viewing from 9-11 AM at Dooley Funeral Home, Payne.
He will be laid to rest in Lehman Cemetery, Payne.
