Jeanette R. Swary

Jeanette R. Swary, 97, of Payne, Ohio, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Monday, May 4, 2026, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Jeanette was born in Ottoville, Ohio on December 2, 1928, a daughter of the late Frances (Bohn) and Bernard Honigford.

She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Being a devout Catholic, Jeanette always put others first. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with family, attending grandchildren’s activities and helping others.

Jeanette married Gerald Swary on August 1, 1953 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ottoville. He passed away on June 1, 2016. 

Jeanette will be sadly missed by her children, Richard (Rachelle), Ron, Sr. and Donna Swary; grandchildren, Ron Jr (Erin), Eric (Bethany) and Isaac (Rachael) Swary, Juliana Heffner, Sheena Tracy and Mackenzie (Zach) Mahnke and 18 great grandchildren. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Don and Doris Honigford. 

Jeanette was also preceded in death by her brothers, Jerome and James Honigford and sisters-in-law, Betty and JoAnn Honigford.

Viewing is Wednesday May 6, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM with the rosary recited at 6:30 PM at Dooley Funeral Home, 5761 SR 500, Payne.

Viewing is also Thursday May 7, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM at Dooley Funeral Home, Payne.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated May 7, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 203 West Townline Street, Payne.

She will be laid to rest in Saint John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Payne.

In lieu of flowers or other tributes, Jeanette’s family asks that you make memorial contributions to Divine Mercy Catholic School Endowment Fund or for Masses.
