Jeannine Leckrone

Jeannine Leckrone, 83, died peacefully in her sleep on December 10, 2024, after a short period of hospice care. 

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Donald G. Leckrone, and by her four children: Laura (Gary) Perkins, of Richwood, OH; Rachel (Bill) Caplan, of Cook, MN; Kristen Leckrone (Ross Hyman), of Chicago, IL; and Karl (Kelly) Leckrone, of Marysville, OH. She is also survived by her three siblings, Tom (Susan) Urban, of Glenview, IL; Judy (Roger) Coldren of North Webster, IN; and Jerrilyn Wilson of Warsaw, IN. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, and numerous in-laws, nephews, and nieces. 

Born in Chicago, IL to Alberta and August Urban, Jeannine was a graduate of the Chicago Wesley School of Nursing, with additional degrees from Youngstown State University and St Francis University, and worked as a nurse and nurse educator for over 50 years. She was an avid gardener, an adventurer who loved kayaking and traveling the world with Don, and more than anything, she was a loving and gracious presence who found joy in spending time with her family and her church.

There will be a memorial service December 23, 2024 at Grace Episcopal Church 308 W. Second St. Defiance, OH. Service at 1:00 PM preceded by visitation and refreshments from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
