Jody Edwin Matthews

Jody Edwin Matthews, 57, of Payne, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, November 28, 2020.

Jody was born in Defiance on November 22nd, 1963, to the late Charles and Dorma (Bland) Matthews.

He enjoying hunting, fishing, and, most importantly, spending time with his children and grandchildren. Jody was also a member of the Antwerp Community Church. 

Jody will be sadly missed by his children, Sara (the late Shawn) Suffel of Paulding & Raymon (Felicia Lehman) Matthews of Payne; his siblings, Gord Matthews of Strugis, MI, John Matthews of Bryan. Ronald Matthews of Cecil, Dana Matthews of Broughton and Jerry Matthews of Hicksville & his 9 grandchildren. 

Jody was preceded in death by the love of his life, Beth Zorens, whom he married in 1988, & his siblings, Elvene Holtsberry, Wilda, Lynn, Lee, and Chucky Matthews. 

His service will be Tuesday, December 1, 2020, 10:30 am with viewing one hour prior at Dooley Funeral Home, 5761 State Route 500, Payne. 

Due to state mandate, guests must wear masks at all times, maintain social distancing, and refrain from contact to keep everyone safe while participating in Jody's viewing and funeral service.

He will be laid to rest at Paulding Memorial Cemetery.
