Joyce Darlene Johnson

Joyce Darlene Johnson, 82, of Pekin, IL passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Genesis Healthcare, Bryan, OH.

Joyce was born in Pekin, IL on November 16, 1935, a daughter of the late Marguerite (Ehrhardt) and Herman  Knapp.

She grew up on a farm near Pekin where she developed her love for animals and the outdoors. Joyce taught at Wilson Elementary School for 30 years and later became a real estate agent, working 20 years for Coldwell Banker. All the while, her membership at Saint Paul United Church of Christ remained a special part of her life along with Tazewell County Retired Teachers Association and many other community groups. 

Joyce will be joyfully remembered by her son, Christopher (Teresa) and granddaughter, Madison all of Bryan, OH.

On Oct. 11, 1961 she married Robert Johnson, who passed away June 18, 1972. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Marilee Grewey.

Joyce's memorial service will be held on May 17, 2018, 11:30 am at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Pekin, IL with visitation from 10:00 am to 11:30 am.
