June Smith

June Smith, 80, of Antwerp, passed away Monday, January 5, 2015 at Community Memorial Hospital, Hicksville.

June was born in Antwerp on November 8, 1934, a daughter of the late Kathryn (Kempf) and Forest  Vail.

She was a medical office manager & bartender at the VFW and Oasis Bar & Grill. June joined the Antwerp VFW Post 5087 Auxiliary in 1971, was President for 8 years & District President in 1998.

June will be sadly missed by her siblings, Joe (Jeannie) Vail of Antwerp & Phyllis Forrer of Paulding and a host of nieces, nephews & special friends.

She was also preceded in death by her husband Charles in 1978 & siblings, James & Jacob Vail & Ruth Berenyi.

Her funeral service is Monday, Jan 12, 2015 at Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp, 10 am, with viewing one hour prior.

Viewing is Sunday, 2-5 pm, with a VFW Auxiliary ceremony at 5 pm.

She will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens.
