Kevin Ray Taylor, 65, of Antwerp, passed away peacefully, Thursday, August 29, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones at home.
Kevin was born in Hicksville on October 8, 1958, son of Virgil Taylor and the late Beverly (Hormann) Taylor.
Kevin’s passion of farming lead him to 38 years of dedication to Malfait Farms in Woodburn, where the passion continued to flourish. His laid-back personality and generous soul helped many in the community of farming and basketball. He coached many levels of basketball throughout his adult life, the most successful being that of his two sons. Many would agree that his most famous line to those he coached and loved was “Can’t coach ‘Em,” whenever that something was dropped. Kevin could often be found at home watching the Ohio State Buckeyes, and cooking on the grill for his family. Above all, Kevin cherished the yearly trips with his cousins, watching his grandchildren’s sporting events, and being at home with his wife, Joni, of 39 years, alongside his dogs Daisy and Bear. Kevin and Joni would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on October 19th.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Joni; children Cassandra (Craig) Daniels, Aaron (Veronica) Taylor, and Adam (Taylor) Taylor; father, Virgil Taylor; siblings, Tammy Balser, Tina Bradbury, and Kipp (Joan) Taylor; & grandchildren, Caitlyn, Crosby, Carter, Ethan, Grady, Teagan, Rylee and Peyton.
Viewing will be Wednesday, September 4th from 3-8 PM at Dooley Funeral home, Antwerp.
A Mass will be held on Thursday, September 5th at 11 AM, with a viewing an hour prior at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Hicksville.
He will be laid to rest in Maumee Cemetery.
Memorials are to Joni Taylor, which will be distributed to different charities decided upon from the family.
