Louis Savieo

Louis T. Savieo, 89, of Payne, Ohio passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 5, 2023 at Paulding County Hospital.

Louis was born in Monroeville, Indiana on April 25, 1933, youngest son of the late Mary B. (Girardot) and Fred L. Savieo.

He served his country in the U.S. Navy. Louie worked at International Harvester, but many would remember him as the proprietor of Louie's Rib Bar in Payne. Louie enjoyed woodworking, reading, watching Western movies, and swapping funny (if somewhat exaggerated) stories with his fellow American Legion and VFW members.

Louie will be missed by his children, Louise (John) Grabner, Laura Savieo, Teresa (Jeff) Gloyd, Julie (James) Harbin, Marian (the late Brian) Saylor, and Patricia Savieo, as well as his five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Margaret, to whom he was married in 1957, and two grandchildren.

Viewing is at Dooley Funeral Home, 5761 SR 500, in Payne on Wednesday 4 - 6:30 PM, with the rosary recited at 6:30. A final visitation will be held before the funeral on Thursday, 9 - 9:30 AM.

Funeral mass is Thursday at 10 AM at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 203 W. Townline Street, Payne

He will be laid to rest in Saint John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Payne with military honors.
