Major G. Klinker, 93, of Payne,  passed away Monday, Sept. 2, 2019 at Saint Anne Home, Fort Wayne.

Major was born in Edgerton, IN on June 20, 1926, a son of the late Esther (Downs) & Harry Klinker.

He proudly served in the U.S. Navy in WW II. Recently, he was able to be on an Honor Flight with his fellow comrades. He was proud of coaching junior high basketball at St John's School for 10 years.  He worked for 15 years at Skinner and Broadbent after retiring from Navistar with 42 years of service. 

Major will be sadly missed by his children, Nicholas (Belinda), Rebecca Willis, Kenneth (Joy),  David (Janet), Coleen (Greg) Kelly, Andrew (Denise), Matthew (Elizabeth),  Annette (Kenneth) Schwartz, Peter (Amy) & Benjamin (Shelly); 28 grandchildren & 33 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline (Mourey), whom he married on June 7, 1949, grandson, Zachary; sister, Halice Grabner & brothers, Darrell & Roger.

Viewing is Friday, 5 - 7:30 pm with the rosary recited at 7:30 pm at Dooley Funeral Home, 5761 SR 500, Payne. Viewing is also Saturday, 9 - 9:30 am at the funeral home.

His Funeral Mass is Saturday, 10 AM, at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 203 W. Townline, Payne.

He will be laid to rest at St John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, with military honors.
