Margaret Rau

Margaret  Rau, 77, of Payne passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at Brookview Healthcare Center, Defiance.

Margaret was born in Painesville, Ohio on December 20, 1937, a daughter of the late Julia (Kalmar) and Joseph Frank Szabo.

She was a  customer service specialist at Phelps Dodge & a member of Divine Mercy Catholic Church.

She loved spending time with her family watching Elvis Presley movies and "I Love Lucy" episodes. Her greatest accomplishments were her children, who will remember her for her spunkiness and her cooking.

Margaret will be sadly missed by her children, Ardis (Robert) Smith of Woodburn, Leslie (Diana) Rau, Jr. of Seven Hills, OH & William (Tracy) Rau of Fort Wayne; sister, Helen ( Harry) Seslar of Antwerp; 5 grandchildren & 5 great grandchildren.

On Aug. 6, 1960 she married Leslie Rau, Sr. who died Sept. 9, 2004. She is also preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Ringler & siblings,  Louis Szabo & Elizabeth Hedrick.  

Funeral Mass is at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Payne, at 10 am on Tuesday, January 13th.

Viewing is Monday, 4 - 7:30 pm, Dooley Funeral Home, Payne, with a vigil service at 7:30 pm. Viewing is also Tuesday, 9 - 9:30 am at Dooley's.

She will be laid to rest at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials are for Divine Mercy School.
