Marguerite Helen Lockhart

November 14, 1927 — June 29, 2025

Antwerp

Marguerite Helen Lockhart went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 29, 2025. She was born in Grafton, WV on November 14, 1927, the daughter of Harold & Eileen Agnes Lenore Cox.

Marguerite spent much of her life in Antwerp, OH where she and husband Carl raised their two children. Marguerite worked at Magnavox in Ft. Wayne, IN for 19 years, but her real passion was in creativity. She gardened & canned, renovated their home, sewed, crocheted, wrought needlepoint and opened her own craft shop.

After 51 years of marriage, her beloved husband Carl passed away, and Marguerite married Paul Traxler 4 years later. They moved to Greenville, SC in 2009, and Marguerite joined Mauldin First Baptist Church after Paul passed in 2011. Marguerite was baptized and became an integral part of her Sunday school class and other MFB groups like Crafters for Christ, in which she made over 200 dresses for mission trips to impoverished locations like Haiti. Marguerite will be remembered for her creativity, zest for life and her eagerness to help others.

In addition to her husbands Carl & Paul, Marguerite’s son Daniel, daughter Diana and brothers Richard & Theodore Cox were waiting for her in Heaven. She leaves behind her brothers Donald (Elizabeth) & Robert (Judy), daughter-in-law Sandra Lockhart, 5 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and many good friends.

A Celebration of Life luncheon will be held for friends & family at Riverside Memorial Park in Antwerp on Saturday, 9/13 at 12:00.
