Mary Jane Zielke

Mary  Jane Zielke, 84, of Antwerp passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Convoy Care Center.

Mary  was born in Cecil on November 7, 1932 a daughter of the late John & Edna (Kopp) Gilbert.

Although she worked many years at the Antwerp Local Schools & Antwerp Exchange Bank, her best times were spent with her husband & family. Memories made while making "Mom's" homemade vegetable soup, canning, gardening, camping and fishing will always be cherished. She was an active member of St John Lutheran Church where she sung in the choir. She also volunteered for the Lutheran Brotherhood & Thrivent for Lutherans.

She will be sadly missed by her children, Jerry (Sue) & John (Darlene) all of Antwerp & Nancy (Del) McClain of Monroeville, IN; brother, Robert Gilbert of Fort Wayne; 7 grandchildren & 8 great grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death are her husband, Wayne, whom she married Dec. 25, 1952 & grandson, John

Viewing is Friday, 4 - 8 pm  at Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp.

Her funeral service is at St. John Lutheran Church, 09088 Openlander Rd, Sherwood, at 3 pm on Saturday, with viewing one hour prior.

Memorials are to St. John Lutheran Church or Vancrest of Payne Activity Fund.
