Maurice A. Brady, 83, of Payne, beloved husband, father & grandfather passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at the place he loved, Pleasant Valley Golf Course.

Maurice was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on January 1, 1929, a son of the late Miriam (Castelman) and Harry Michael Brady.

He was a graduate of St. Francis Preparatory School, Spring Grove, PA;  a member of the Hoosier Turf Grass Assn.; the Knights of Columbus, Fort Wayne and Divine Mercy Catholic Parish. He was also a member of the Aircraft Owners & Pilots Assn. having flown his own plane from 1977 to 1999. He had been the President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Union State Bank.

Maurice designed the Pleasant Valley Golf Course, that he owned & operated. He was a farmer and owned Brady Elevator, Payne, retiring in 1964.

In 1950 he married Helen Stabler, who passed away in 1969. He then married Carol Osborne in 1970.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Carol; children, Kathleen (Gary) Cadwallader, Susan Johnson, Michael (Sue) Brady, Nelson Snellenberger & Jeffrey (Jane) Snellenberger; grandchildren Jennifer Cadwallader, Stephanie (Jason) Cox, Joshua Johnson, Kimberly (Gino) Farnham, Lisa Johnson, Brian Brady & Sonya Snellenberger; great grandchildren Jacob Johnson & Brady Cox.

Maurice was also preceded in death by his brother, Michael Harry Brady, who was a navigator in World War II.

Viewing, Monday, 4 to 8 pm, with the Rosary recited at 8 pm at Dooley Funeral Home, 5761 SR 500, Payne.

Viewing is also Tuesday, 9 to 9:30 am, at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Payne at 10 am  on Tuesday, April 10th,  with Very Rev. G. Allan Fillman officiating.

He will be laid to rest at St John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery.
