Mervin B Volkert

Mervin B. Volkert, 87 of Hicksville passed away Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Brookview Healthcare center, Defiance.

Mervin was born in Hicksville on September 12, 1930 a son of the late Glenn & Florence (Hefty) Volkert.

He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1954. Mervin helped on the Volkert family farm for many years and retired after 33 years of service as a fire inspector at International Harvester.

He was a member of the Hicksville American Legion Post and was active at the Senior Center in Hicksville.

Mervin will be sadly missed by his wife, Marilea (Heck); many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Beverly (Hatzell) & brothers, Glenn & Gene Paul.

Mervin's graveside service is Monday, May 7, 2018 at 11 AM with military honors at Forest Home Cemetery, Hicksville.

Dooley Funeral Home, 202 W. River Street, Antwerp was entrusted with arrangements.
