Nancy Jo Sunday 64 of Cecil, passed away at home Sunday, August 21, 2016.

Nancy was born in Defiance on Oct. 7, 1951 a daughter of the late Kathleen (Gray) & Lawrence Sunday.

She received her Bachelors of Science from Eastern New Mexico University in 1975 & Masters of Science in Education from Indiana University in 1987. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Defiance County Retired Teachers & Antwerp VFW Auxiliary. It was easy to see that Nancy was devoted to her family and the students at Hicksville Exempted Village Schools, where she taught special education for 35 years. She cheered for Ohio State Football but loved being a part of Hicksville sports by keeping score for many years. 

Nancy will be sadly missed by her nieces & nephews, Katie (Mark) Washburn of Muncie, IN, Kris (Jeremy) Odell of Spencerville, IN, Jamie (Dan) Jones of Continental & Shawn (Aubrey) Baden of Brookville; brother-in-law, Mark Baden of Sherwood; great nieces & nephews, Will, Hannah, Adrianna, Brandt, Liberty, Jax, Caitlyn & Camryn.

She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Barbara (James) Flory & Patricia Baden.

Viewing is Wednesday, 2-4 & 6-8 pm, at Dooley Funeral Home, 202 W. River Street, Antwerp.

Services are Thursday, 11 am, with viewing one hour prior at Dooley Funeral Home.

She will be laid to rest at Maumee Cemetery.
