I just noticed this obituary. I would guess that this Rick was one of my first childhood friends in Binghamton, NY. The Ziertens lived across the intersection from us, but moved away before long. Rick\'s dad gave me a crew-cut one day and sent me back home to my somewhat-surprised parents. I\'m sorry for your loss.

I just learned about the passing of both Rick and Maryann, and it is a crushing blow to my heart. I met Rick and Maryann when Rick and I worked together at Ft. Wayne State Developmental Center in the 1970s. Nobody could make me laugh like Rick and Maryann. I missed them so much when they moved to Ohio, but I knew that they had found a wonderful place. I am sorry that I missed their memorial services. I wish I could have told their siblings how much joy Rick and Maryann added to my life and how much I love them and have missed them and will miss them always. Maureen Reidenbach

Incredibly sad to have lost both uncle Rick and aunt Maryann so young - but I am glad that they are together again.  They were each other's true loves, and I am so blessed to have known them.  I will always treasure my memories of living with them on Lake Avenue during my college years and playing with our collective golden retrievers out at the farm :)
