Dear Leah, Marilyn, Terry and families, Norma and Bill.....  we were saddened to learn of Bob's death.... but recognize that his pain and suffering has ended.  Like so many in the Community, we will fondly reflect on all of the good memories that we shared with your Husband, Dad, Grandpa and Brother. The memories abound......from getting the (Payne) football field ready on Friday for the 'big game' that evening to watching 'Primitive Pete' movies in Vo-Ag classes at dear ole' Payne High School to seeing him respond to the fire siren - always being the first at the fire house ( I'll not forget the one time when he was in such a hurry, that he literally ran over my new bicycle in the School parking lot!!!) ...'Smitty' was there...lending a helping hand.  I can still very clearly recall seeing him administer first aid to a person on the steps of the old St. Paul United Methodist Church in Payne one Sunday morning.....(and that person's life was saved!!)  Yeah, it was evident to all of us that 'Smitty' loved the excitement of life....every facet of it...and we loved and admired him as well.. He was a great man, and we pray that God will bless us with more 'Smittys' in our lives. We thank God for the life of Bob...and we thank you for sharing him with us.  May the peace of God comfort you at this difficult time...and may the many fond memories of our 'Smitty' put and keep smiles on our faces. With our sympathy and love to you, Jim and Vicki Hooker, Mesa, Arizona.
