Ruth York

Ruth Mary York, 89, of Antwerp, Ohio passed away at home on Wednesday, February 15, 2023.

Ruth was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on February 26, 1933, a daughter of the late Bertha (Hemenover) and Donald Hallock.

She was a waitress at Bob's Restaurant in Woodburn, Indiana. Ruth was a member of the Eastern Star and lifetime member of the Antwerp United Methodist Church She was a loving, wife, mother and grandmother. Ruth was full of life and loved to spend time with others. She looked forward to the noise and chaos of family events, where everyone enjoyed her specialties like sugar cookies and homemade applesauce. She was known to cheer for the Chicago Bulls, Green Bay Packers and all of her grandchildren at their sporting events. Ruth loved traveling with her her husband, Jerry, especially to the beach.   Suffice it to say, Ruth thoroughly enjoyed life!

Ruth will be sadly missed by her husband Jerry York, children, Kim Schnelker, Lisa (Marty) Minna, David (Kim) Savage, Joan (Ray) Garbaciak, Angela (Phil) Kelley and Chad York; 15 grandchildren & 14 great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her sister, Barbara (Frank) Leinard.

Her family will hold a celebration of life on Saturday, March 11, 2023 from 2 pm to 5 pm at 13426 Road 27C, Antwerp, Ohio 45813.
