I was so sad to hear of Ryan's passing. He was a very sweet person that kindly touched many lives. I wanted to share my first memory of him here because it is such a happy memory. I feel it shows just how big his heart was. I moved to Antwerp about three years ago. I didn't know anyone here. My first friend was made at the store in town. It was Ryan! He dropped my canister of potato chips and then proceeded to recite Guy Fawkes to me because it was the fifth of November. I think he was a little surprised I knew the poem! We had a good laugh about it and a running joke any time he had to ring up potato chips for us. I say us because I have two little boys. He and my youngest son- who was about 18 months- had an instant connection. Both of my children adored him, but he and my youngest were instant and forever pals. I am sure his family has never heard of us because we were just friends from the store, but to my children and I, Ryan was a part of our hearts because of the kindness and friendliness he shared with us. We will never forget him and we will love him always! My sympathy to all of his family and friends, you are in our prayers.
