Sharon Kay Bauer, 80, of Antwerp, Ohio passed away Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center.
Sharon was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on April 30, 1945, a daughter of the late Esther (Lung) and Arthur Blankenship.
She was a 1963 graduate of Woodlan High School, where she played clarinet in the school band. She met the love of her life, Richard Bauer, Jr. in 1961. They were married June 20, 1964, despite Rich getting gum in her hair on their first date at the roller rink!
Sharon earned her certificate as a licensed practical nurse from Ivy Tech, where she was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa Society in 1993. Sharon also worked at Lincoln Life, Waterford Mortgage, General Electric and Antwerp Pharmacy. Sharon thoroughly enjoyed time with her family, especially the trip to Disneyland in 2016 with her grandsons.
Sharon will be greatly missed by her husband, Rich; children Todd Bauer and Yvonne (Dan) Marlin; grandsons, Teeghun and Ethan Marlin and brothers-in-law, Thomas Foit and Thomas Wimmer
She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Vera Wimmer, Eulaila Blankenship and Mary Jane Foit.
Viewing is Wednesday, September 3rd, 4 to 7 PM at Dooley Funeral Home, 202 W. River Street, Antwerp.
Her funeral service is 10:30 AM, with viewing one hour prior, on Thursday, September 4th at Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp.
She will be laid to rest in Concordia Cemetery Gardens, Fort Wayne.
