Thomas Gordon

Thomas J. Gordon, 70, of Payne passed away at home on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019.

Tom was born in Fort Wayne on Sept. 8, 1948, a son of the late Charles & Margaret (Christle) Gordon.

He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from June 1968 to April 1972. After serving in the U.S. Navy, Tom worked at International Harvester Company until 1982. He met his future bride, Diane (Krouse), while working at IHC. They married Jan. 30, 1981. Tom worked at Adam Center Landfill 1984 to 1990. Tom always had a passion for farming. Growing up on the family farm, he remained a farmer at heart throughout his life. Tom farmed part-time until he dedicated his work full-time to farming in 1990. He retired in 2017 from the work that he loved.

Tom will be fondly missed by his wife, Diane (Krouse); children: Sabrina (Bill Stainbrook), Laura (Josh Gray), Tricia (Joel) McIntyre, & Jason (Susan Azam, fiancée); siblings: Lawrence, Edward, Mary (Richard) Yoder, Susan (Paul) Hamrick, Carol (Joseph) Kohnen, Robert, Therese (Wayne) McOwen, James (Amy); grandchildren: Kaylee & Logan McIntyre.

Tom’s funeral mass is Saturday,  Jan. 12, 2019 at 10 am, Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Payne.

Viewing is Saturday, 9 - 9:30 am at Dooley Funeral Home, 5761 SR 500, Payne and Friday, January 11, 2019, 4 - 7 pm with a 7 pm vigil service at Dooley Funeral Home, Payne.

He will be laid to rest in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery with military honors.

Please omit flowers and other tributes. Memorials are for Masses at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Haven, IN or Community Health Professionals (Hospice)
