Dear Kipfer families.....We just learned here in Arizona of Tom's death and it certainly gave us pause. First, all of you have our sympathy. While Tom and I weren't the best of friends, because of our age difference, we were certainly good acquaintances, that's for sure. Many of us know that he experienced some low times in his life and it did take its toll. But like most, I prefer to remember Tom for the many good and positive attributes he possessed...and at the top of that list would be his love for carpentry work and indeed, his skilled craftsmanship when it came to wood. One of the projects that he participated in when he worked for Schroeder Associates, Inc. of Antwerp was when he contributed to the very fine craftsmanship that went into building Gary and Kathy Cadwallader's home, northwest of Payne. I still remember him telling me, with a great deal of pride, what he did inside that home....and I know that that workmanship is still being enjoyed today by the Cadwalladers.
And, because I watched the video accompanying his obituary, I recognized what else Tom was so very proud of - his kids and grandkids!! So many great pictures of so many great and memorable times. May you rest in peace Tom....You're now with the greatest carpenter of all times and I'm sure He'll have some mighty important 'projects' for you to work on through eternity.

Sorry to hear of Tom's passing. I remember many summers at Clear Lake when your family rented near our cottage. Tom was young then but we had a great time with your family.
