Velma Dinger

Velma Marlene Dinger, 96 of Payne, passed away on May 11, 2026 at Homestead Assisted Living in Van Wert, OH

Velma was born in Haviland, Oh on April 27, 1930, a daughter of the late Cecil and Edith (Hutson) Zartman.

On March 27, 1949, Velma married Paul Dinger and they enjoyed 56 years of marriage until his passing in February 2005. Velma was a dedicated member of the Payne Church of Christ, owned and managed The Village Inn Restaurant in Payne, OH , a 4-H advisor and worked at Klines Fashion in New Haven, IN. Later in life,Paul and Velma spent many winters in Florida and Las Vegas.

Velma will be greatly missed by her children, Ted (Julie) Dinger and Penny (Mark) Minick, 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and one on the way.

Velma was also proceeded in death by her son William Dinger, grandson Brandon Dinger and sister Darlene Cox Riley.

A graveside service for family and friends will be held Saturday May 30, 2026 at 11:00 am at Wiltsie Cemetery.
