Virgil Elroy Woebbeking, 89, of Woodburn, Indiana passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at Grey Stone Health & Rehabilitation Center, Fort Wayne.
Virgil was born in Woodburn, Indiana on May 7, 1933, a son of the late Lydia (Gerbers) and Gerhard Woebbeking.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army and was a farmer. Virgil was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His faith in God and love of his family was an example to everyone who knew him.
Virgil will be sadly missed by his wife, Ruth (Bultemeier); children Denise (Tom) Miller, Renee (Jack) Cox and Kevin Woebbeking; siblings, Rosina Bradtmueller, Verdonna Woebbeking; brothers-in-law, Ron (Kathy) Bultemeier, William Anderson ; grandchildren, Chelsie (Brent) McGarvey, Kristin ( Andrew) Mahler, Lindsay (Bryan) Yoder, Heather (Dan) Watts, Brittany (Seth) Watts and Adam, Andrea & Abby Woebbeking; great grandchildren, Raegan, Ryleigh & Boston McGarvey, Haylee, Luke & Mackenzie Mahler, Landon & Logan Yoder, Kennedy & Madison Watts, Bowen, Kynlee & Reid Watts & Gabriel Woebbeking.
He was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Stephanie Miller; great granddaughter, Bristol McGarvey; brother-in-law, Victor Bradtmueller and sister-in-law, Marlene Anderson.
His funeral service is at Zion Lutheran Church, 7616 Bull Rapids Rd, Woodburn, Indiana on Saturday, October 1st at NOON, with viewing from 11:00 am to 11:45 am
He will be laid to rest in Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
